25 years ago, I took my daughter and some friends for her birthday treat skating at Basingstoke…and broke my leg! I then found that not only was shooting with a leg in plaster (wrapped in a fertilizer bag, with string around the top) very difficult, but also that moving to a peg, even though aided by a walking pole, was very tricky,  simply due to the need to carry gun, cartridge bag, the weight of a belt etc .  By chance, I saw a loader’s bag, and decided that if I could put this onto a walking pole, this would enable me to ditch the belt, and could also let me get my cartridges from the bag as and when needed.

At that stage, the method of securing the bag to the pole was by using webbing straps on the rear, and the bag opened with a fold back flap. Over time we devised a secure method of inserting the pole into special slots in the rear of the bag, and a “roll over” flap, which when rolled back, gave clear access to the body of the bag, and more cartridges could be put into pockets on the  front.

So today, you can reach for your cartridges in pairs at hand height from one of our bags and this also enables you to keep focussed  on the drive.
